Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Docxa ("the app", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Docxa mobile application.
Information We Collect
- Account information when you choose to sign in with Google, such as your Google account name, email address, and Google account ID.
- Documents, images, and related metadata that you capture, import, or store in the app.
- Local security settings such as PIN preferences and biometric unlock preference stored on your device.
- Cloud sync metadata when you connect Google Drive for backup or restore features.
How We Use Information
- To let you sign in and identify your account in the app.
- To capture, organize, store, and manage your documents.
- To back up and restore your files using your Google Drive account when you choose to use cloud sync.
- To secure access to your wallet using PIN and biometric options on your device.
- To improve app reliability and maintain core functionality.
Camera Permission
Docxa uses the device camera to capture document images inside the app. Camera access is required for the app's core document-scanning functionality.
Google Sign-In
If you choose Google Sign-In, the app uses Google authentication to identify your account. We use this information only to provide login, account linking, and cloud-related features inside the app.
Google Drive Access
If you choose to use cloud sync or restore, Docxa may request access to your Google Drive with limited permissions needed to create, update, and restore app-related files. We do not access files unrelated to Docxa's own backup and restore workflow.
Local Storage and Biometrics
Documents and app data may be stored locally on your device. PIN and biometric preferences are used to help protect access to the app on your device. Biometric information itself is handled by your device's operating system and is not collected or stored by us directly.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to provide app functionality, such as using Google services when you choose Google Sign-In or Google Drive sync.
Data Retention
Data stored locally remains on your device unless you remove it. Data stored in your Google Drive remains in your Google account until you delete it or disconnect the related app usage.
Your Choices
- You can choose not to sign in with Google and use a local wallet where supported.
- You can disable biometric unlock in the app settings.
- You can remove local app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage on your device.
- You can manage or remove files stored in your Google Drive directly from your Google account.
Children's Privacy
Docxa is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
